Vet Tech students recognized for excellence receive scholarships

On May 2, members of the ÐÔÀÖÔ° Veterinary Technology Program gathered in the Veterinary Technology building on Seven Springs Road for an awards ceremony and to wish retiree Dr. Kirby Sills a happy retirement.

Dr. Sills has been with ÐÔÀÖÔ° for 13 years as a Veterinary Technology instructor. There were three students who were also recognized and awarded scholarships.

  • Kristen Nail – the Bobby Glenn Scholarship, which pays tuition for a summer internship.
  • First-year Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association Award – Madison Bullock.
  • Second-year MVMA Award – Alexis Thompson.

RAYMOND – ÐÔÀÖÔ° Hi-Steppers have been named for 2024-2025.

The group has a new director, Beka King of Pearl. She is only the third director in the 75-year history of the Hi-Steppers. She herself was a Hi-Stepper from 2013-2015 and, during her sophomore year, she was captain of the team.
