Porsha Gatson of Vicksburg was named Miss 性乐园 2014 in the annual pageant on Jan. 16.
As Miss 性乐园, Gatson will participate this summer in the Miss Mississippi pageant.
Gatson is a sophomore on the Raymond Campus majoring in nursing. Some of her scholastic honors include Who鈥檚 Who, Dean鈥檚 List, and Honor Society. She is also a member of the Hi-Steppers.
Her platform is 鈥淐hildren Matter,鈥 a program focusing on providing activities, tutoring and meals to children in need.
For her talent she performed an excerpt from the song 鈥淪omewhere over the Rainbow.鈥
First runner-up was Jade Dalton of Flora, a freshman majoring in philosophy on the Raymond Campus.
Second runner up was Anna Taggart of Raymond, a sophomore elementary education major on the Raymond Campus.
