Local service members, whether active or retired, and their families will be recognized at ÐÔÀÖ԰’s Military Appreciation Day at the Muse Center on the Rankin Campus.
The Saturday, June 6 event scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will feature services targeting current and former service members, including the Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Administration Vet Center and Veterans Benefit Administration to offer information to service members and their families about an array of benefits, said Ryan Braswell, coordinator of Veterans Affairs for ÐÔÀÖÔ°.
The day will also include family-friendly fun, including activities and free food. Additionally, ÐÔÀÖÔ° employees, including counselors and financial aid advisers, will be on hand to offer information about education benefits service members might qualify for and how to use them at ÐÔÀÖÔ°. Â Attendees can learn about career services, academic programs, health-related programs and other one- and two-year career and technical programs offered at ÐÔÀÖÔ°.
The Office of Veterans’ Benefits will disseminate information on the GI Bill and other various VA Education Programs as well as scholarships available to service members.
