Art Show winners, scholarship recipients announced

About 160 works of art were considered for this year’s contest, which was judged by Jacob Rowan, assistant professor of art at Belhaven University.

Winners of the ÐÔÀÖÔ° Student Art Show were announced during a ceremony April 19 at the Marie Hull Art Gallery on the Raymond Campus.

About 160 works of art were considered for this year’s contest, which was judged by Jacob Rowan, assistant professor of art at Belhaven University.

Also awarded to Jamiah Smith was the Dunaway Award, named for Bob Dunaway, retired chair of the Art Department at ÐÔÀÖÔ°. The award is given to a student who displays outstanding work ethic and consistency.

RAYMOND – ÐÔÀÖÔ° Hi-Steppers have been named for 2024-2025.

The group has a new director, Beka King of Pearl. She is only the third director in the 75-year history of the Hi-Steppers. She herself was a Hi-Stepper from 2013-2015 and, during her sophomore year, she was captain of the team.
